authorities believe they have solved the case.
Today, they arrested a 76- year- old Roanoke man and charged with first
degree murder.

Pearman because he didn't approve of her interracial relationship.
But, rather than injuring Pearman, the bomb exploded hitting three innocent
bystanders walking by.
And this may not be the last arrest.
Authorites say Helvestine didn't act alone.

23 month- old Carrie Mask was walking along this sidewalk with her father,
Barry Mask and another relative Henry Newman when the bomb exploded.
The explosion killed her and injured her father and Newman.
The assistant commonwealth's attorney says authorites re- opened the case
when a person who wanted to clear his conscience came forward.

The parents of a Danville teenager are seeking charges against a local
police officer.
Deborah Moran believes excessive force was used when her 17- year old
step-son was picked up this week for allegedly violating probation.
Moran took her accusations to a magistrate who issued a warrant against
officer Doyle Cook. Cook has been with the department for nearly 10- years.
Moran says her step-son was choked, bruised and scratched.
Danville Police Chief Neal Morris declined comment because the case is
pending in court.
