A private plane trying to land at an entrance road to the Grand Canyon National Park crashed today.

A park spokeswoman says the victims were all from Europe.
The Cessna 172 took off from the National Park Airport about ten minutes before the crash.

But only one faces a first degree murder charge.
Yesterday they arrested 76 year old Frank Helvestine the third and charged him with a car bombing that killed a toddler in 1975.
They believe a second man was involved in the racially motivated bombing, but he has since died.
They're not releasing his name.

A 23- year- old man was shot and killed and a teenager injured in Lynchburg tonight.
Police say it happened at the residence on 6-69 Leesville Road around 7:30.
The man was shot in the upper body, he died on the scene.
The 16- year- old male was shot in the abdomen.
He's in Lynchburg General Hospital.
His injury doesn't appear to be life threatening.
Police are not releasing either one of the male's identity.
They do say the two knew one another.

"Freddy The Fire Truck" was a favorite of the children at the first annual Fire Safety Day.
All State Insurance company helped the Roanoke County Fire Department purchase Freddy in an effort to teach fire prevention to young people.
City firefighters joined in the educational effort by giving tours of the smoke house.
Inside children learned what to do if their house is filled with smoke.
The day gave everyone the chance to get in the driver's seat of a fire engine and there was even a real fire dog mugging for the camera.
All State and the county joined forces to give away 150 smoke detectors and several fire extinguishers.
Tomorrow marks the beginning of fire prevention week.

The Rangers scored two runs in the second. Ivan Rodriguez hits a line drive to left centerfield scoring Mark McLemore from second to make it 2 to nothing Texas.
Then in the third Juan Gonzalez continues to dominate Yankee pitcher. He belts this solo homer over the left field wall, his fifth in the series, and the Rangers took the 3 to nothing lead.
Texas added another run in the third. McLemore hits a shot up the middle scoring Dean Palmer and the Rangers jumped out to the 4 to nothing lead.

Professional polo players from all over the world made up the teams vying for the ninth annual cup.
But the spectacle on the field had a hard time keeping up with the party on the sidelines.
Many seemed more interested in striking a pose than watching the competition.
