The Grand Jury yesterday returned 96 indictments against 55 adults and 12 juveniles.
They're charged with distributing crack cocaine, heroin, marijuana, and imitation narcotics.

Police informants posed as drug addicts and purchased small amounts of crack cocaine and other drugs

from mainly street dealers and neighborhood stash houses.
Police began targeting neighborhoods around the city as a result of numerous citizen complaints of drug activity and other crimes.
Most charges were in the Lafayette Boulevard and 13th street Southwest areas.
Other targeted neighborhoods include Melrose Avenue, Williamson Road and Garden City.

He was wheeled into court this morning with an oxygen tank at his side.
Helvestine is charged with four felonies including murder, malicious wounding and arson-- with the accusations stemming from a crime committed more than 20 years ago.
In 1975, 23- month- old Carrie Mask was walking outside with her parents, when a car bomb exploded.
Authorities now believe Helvestine planted the bomb in an attempt to kill a woman who was involved in an interracial relationship.
This morning, Helvestine-- who owns a house along with other liquid assets-- asked for a court appointed attorney.
But his request was denied.

Lance Armstrong had a malignant testicle removed last week, but doctors are hopeful he can make a complete recovery.

The two time defending Tour DuPont champion had surgery last Thursday and is now undergoing chemotherapy to control the often agressive cancer.
