About 135 people have signed the petition so far.

A major drug roundup last night in Roanoke.
So far, police have arrested 24 adults and 5 juveniles.
Authorities are still searching for nearly 40 more individuals wanted for distributing drugs.

The investigation began in early spring.
Police informants disguised themselves as drug addicts and bought small amounts of crack cocaine and other substances.
Among the targeted neighborhoods were Lafayette Boulevard and Melrose Avenue, as well as the Garden City and Williamson Road areas.
On Monday, the Grand Jury returned 96 indictments against 55 adults for distributing crack cocaine, heroin, marijuana and imitation narcotics.
Twelve juveniles were also charged with distributing drugs.

It killed a toddler-- 23- month- old Carrie Mask-- who was walking with her parents when the bomb went off.
Prosecutors said given the time lapse, proving guilt in this case may be more challenging.

An accident on I-81 in Wythe County killed one woman yesterday and seriously injured another.
70 year-old Virginia (Sec-o-bich) Secobich of Massachusetts died at the scene when a van struck the Buick she was riding in.
State police say the driver of the Buick, Wanda S. Bourne of Fries (FREEZ) made an improper lane change, and the van hit it broadside.
Bourne was airlifted to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
No one in the van was injured.

Authorities arrested an alleged bank robber, AND recovered the 14- thousand- dollars he's accused of stealing from the Bank of Carroll in Cana.
Carroll County Sheriff Warren Manning says 25- year- old Larry Tyrone Gates was wearing a gun when he demanded the money.
The tellers gave police a detailed description of Gates and his car.
He was arrested several miles away in Surry County, North Carolina.
Gates is awaiting extradition to Virginia.

Senator John Warner has a new T-V ad that portrays Democratic challenger Mark Warner as a Washington insider.
The ad that began airing yesterday says the Democrat made his telecommunications fortune by taking advantage of government loopholes on cellphone licenses.
Mark Warner said Virginia voters should reject such personal attacks.
G-O-P pollster Glen Bolger said John Warner had to go on the offensive to prevent the race from tightening in the last weeks.
