The suspect was caught leaving the fire scene on a bicycle. He is also suspected of starting a half dozen other fires in the area.

Lynchburg City Manager Charles Church will be off the job for awhile.
He announced yesterday he has prostate cancer.
In a memo, Church told employees he was diagnosed during a recent physical-- and will undergo surgery next month.
Church says he considers himself fortunate-- the prostate cancer was detected early.
He's also encouraging all Lynchburg City employees to take advantage of insurance benefits-- especially cancer detecting tests.
Church says he hopes to return to his normal activities in January.

But prosecutors maintained the killing was out of revenge-- that the two belonged to rival drug gangs.
Powell was a member of the 19-91 Halifax County football team the year it won the state title.

Work crews were trying to repair a large gap in one of the southbound lanes.
It's still not fixed, but this morning, V-DOT is letting one lane of traffic through.
Unfortunately for motorists earlier yesterday, they were part of an hour long back up.

((Motorists on the southbound side of Interstate 81 had a "sinking" suspicion something was wrong-- and they were right.
There was definitely a "hole" lot of trouble on the highway.
The culprit, a massive sinkhole-- 35 feet deep and 75 feet wide at the 209 mile marker in Rockbridge County.
It forced VDOT to close off more than 15 miles of the Federal four- lane... causing an hour- long back up on the interstate and a detour on to Route 11.
Needless to say, frustration levels were running high.
