Two James Madison University students were found dead of gunshot wounds in
Harrisonburg last night.
Police found 25-year-old Ann Margret Olson and 23-year-old Keith J.
O'Connell in O'Connell's apartment.
They went to the scene after receiving a tip from a friend of one of the
victims.
Both waited tables at a Harrisonburg restaurant.
A manager said they had been dating at least two months.

Osborne allegedly shot 46-year-old Donetta Keyser, a church secretary in
Tennessee.

The man who leads thousands of union workers in our area survived a plane
crash today.

United Mine Workers president Cecil Roberts was flying into Harlan County,
Kentucky around noon, when the pilot of the plane mis-judged the length of the
runway.
The plane slid off the end, went over an embankment and ended up on it's
nose.
Roberts and an assistant were treated and released at a nearby hospital.
The pilot wasn't hurt.
Roberts returned to Washington DC by car.

worth of federal loan money for Montgomery County's Falling Branch Industrial
Park.
News-7 told you first about the resignation of a partner that built an
Alleghany Highlands company into the world's largest maker of accent rugs.
Pat Haynes is leaving the Bacova Guild to pursue other business interests.
Barr Labs officially began renovations of the old Galileo plant it will move
into.
But there's more...the pharmecutical company announced it already has plans
to expand the manufacturing and distribution facility that will employ 125
people.
Checking the financial markets for the week, the Dow Jones Industrial
dropped about 23 points. Nasdaq was up about a little less than a point.

The floor of the canyon is a cauldron of water, volcanic ash and ice.

New York clinched the American League Championship with a 6 to 4 win over

The Yankees played power ball scoring all the runs they would need in the
sixth Jim Leyritz belts this solo homer over the right field wall to make it
one to nothing.
A batter later Cecil Fielder takes this inside pitch and powers it over the
left field wall for a three run homer and the Yankees went on top by a score of
5 to nothing.
The next batter Darryl Strawberry followed Fielder's lead. He takes the
outside pitch over the centerfield wall for a solo homer putting the Yankees on
top 6 to nothing.
Baltimore hit three homers and cut SUPER=30-New York/6/Baltimore/4/;the
lead to two but the Yankees beat the Orioles sending Joe Torre to the World
Series for the first time in his career as a player and coach.
