State Police say it appears the pilot misjudged the length of the runway and slid off and over an embankment, pitching the plane onto its nose.
Roberts and his Executive Assistant were treated and released at local Hospital.
The pilot also escaped serious injury.

A grisly discovery for police this weekend in Harrisonburg.
Two James Madison University students were found dead of gunshot wounds.
Police found 25- year- old Ann Margret Olson and 23- year- old Keith J. O'Connell in O'Connell's apartment.
They went to the scene after receiving a tip from a friend of one of the victims.
Both waited tables at a Harrisonburg restaurant.
A manager said they had been dating at least two months.

Many religious conservatitves are planning to stay home on Election Day, this according to the head of the Virginia-based Christian Action Network.
Martin Mawyer said such voters feel that Republican Bob Dole is not addressing their concerns.
Mawyer said Dole's only chance for winning back disenchanted Christian right voters is to chance his message.
He wants Dole to shift his focus from his tax cut plan to morality and values.
Mawyer's group, based in Forest, claims a membership of 250-thousand.

The latest Senate race poll shows incumbent John Warner still way ahead of Democrat Mark Warner.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch-12 News poll released today shows John Warner ahead by 20 percentage points -- 48 percent to 28 percent.
But Democrats took some comfort because the poll was the first to put John Warner under 50 percent.
And the poll was taken before any reaction from the use a doctored photo of Mark Warner run in a T-V ad by John Warner's campaign.
Mark Warner's campaign says they have an internal poll indicating the race is much closer.
