The tragedy unfolded as fans tried to crowd into the already-packed stadium.
Security forces could not stop the crowd as it surged through one gate, trampling and suffocating people inside.
Guatemala's president calls it one of the worst tragedies in his country's history and has declared three days of mourning.

The parents of 17- year- old Jonathon Moran sought the warrant saying Cook used excessive force while arresting their son for violating probation.

Cook tells a different story.
He testified Moran was trying to run and that he only used enough force to get the teen into handcuffs.
The judge said both could have handled the situation better.

Young says make sure your child's costume fits properly-- and is made of flame retardant material.
Having a reflective strip sewn onto their clothing is also a good idea.

But safety doesn't stop at costume selection.
While local police say serious Halloween crimes are rare-- children are sometimes the victims of teenaged pranksters.

A good rule of thumb for parents-- only let your child trick or treat alone if you'd leave them home alone.
And remember to inspect their candy before your kids eat it.
Just make sure they don't eat all of it on Halloween night.
