left a trail of damage.

In the Lynchburg area there are a number of downed utility poles. At the
King's Island restaurant on Old Forest Road an empty trailer was turned on its
side by the force of the wind. A manager there was hit by flying glass and was
taken to the hospital. At least three cars and one home have been damaged by
fallen trees and other debris. Luckily though there have been no reports of
any other injuries.

officers charged in the death of a black man.

Johnny Gammage was killed after he was pulled over by police while driving
last October.
Today the Judge declared a mistrial because of comments made by the county
coroner.
The coroner testified one of the officers would have to explain his
actions.
The law however does not require defendants to testify in their own
defense.
The judge said the coroner's remarks were too serious to be ignored.
A new trial will begin in two months.

killing her two week old daughter.
A Roanoke Circuit Court jury convicted 28 year old Veronica Via of first
degree murder for fatally beating her daughter Jasmine last December.
Via is sentenced to 20 years in prison.
Jury deliberation took about two hours.

The Ohio plant that will close has nearly 500 employees.

About 200 people have been laid off there this year.
The move does promise to bring more production to the Dublin site.
