Federal drug agents have arrested a state prison guard from the Staunton Correctional Unit suspected of dealing drugs.
Authorities say Richard Quarles got their attention after a tipster called a state police drug hotline.
The tipster said while monitoring a scanner, he heard Quarles setting up drug deals on a cordless phone.
The Drug Enforcement Administration said Quarles was arrested after police found three ounces of cocaine and a pound of marijuana at his home.
But D-E-A officials said there's no evidence that Quarles dealt drugs in prison.
