A Roanoke man- -shot and killed yesterday after leveling a handgun at
police- -had no criminal history, according to the city prosecutor.
The investigation hasn't reached his office yet, but Commonwealth's
Attorney Don Caldwell said he'd never had any dealings with Rodney Lee
Wilhelm... and found nothing on him in court records.

The 41-year old resident of Padbury Avenue had already fired his Tech-9
several times before police arrived around 3-A-M Sunday.
When he pointed it at Officer A-C Lampe, the rookie patrolman fired his
service weapon four or five times, according to a city police news release.

Defillippis was abducted from a Blacksburg convenience store last December
and shot four times.
Ben Lilly is one of three defendants in this case, the alleged trigger
man, and his attorneys argued the photo of the victim would prejudice the jury.
