AND IN ORANGE COUNTY THERE WAS NO TIME TO EVACUATE AT ALL. 70-MILE PER HOUR WINDS WHIPPED FLAMES SO FAST, 8-HOMES BURNED TO THE GROUND BEFORE OWNERS HAD THE CHANCE OWNERS HAD A CHANCE TO EVEN SNATCH UP SENTIMENTALS

And at one point he shot out from one of his windows and shattered the rear windshield of this police cruiser.

Defillipis was abducted from a Blacksburg convenience store last December and shot four times.
Ben Lilly is one of three defendants in this case, the alleged trigger man, and his attorneys argued the photo of the victim would prejudice the jury.

The Justice Department wants a federal judge to order Virginia Military Institute to explain its coeducation plans.
The department has requested a hearing for November 13th in federal court in Roanoke.
But the state apparently does not think it has to produce a detailed plan to admit women.
Such a plan might go into things like whether keeping the school's strict physical training requirements poses a hindrance to female cadets.
