of Legionnaires cases.
At least 4 people in the area have diaganosed with the disease.
Legionnaires is an acute form of pneumonia- that can be fatal.
The cases appear to be isolated-- the patients are from Montgomery County
and Giles Counties and Floyd.
Two are in critical condition, the others are stable.
Victims usually inhale airborne water droplets containing the bacteria.
Symptoms include high fevers-- between 103 and 105 degrees.
Officials are also looking into a rise in PNEUMONIA cases in the New River
Valley, and don't know yet if they're related.
