Welcome everybody to Friday Football Extra and week number nine of the regular season.
It's hard to believe but only two weeks remain in the regular season.
SS=brookville/liberty

Let's begin this week's show down in Campbell County where the Brookville Bees have been quietly putting together an outstanding season.
The Bees only bump came on September 27th when they were beaten by Staunton River. The rest of the year they've been unbeatable.
(----------------)
VO-NAT ENG#
SUPER=51-Campbell Co./Liberty vs. Brookville; :00

The Brookville offense looked a lot like the classic Corvettes used in tonight's homecoming celebration.
Once the Bees got ranked up they were hard to catch.
Liberty drew first blood as the Minutemen lived up to their game getting a turnover in the first 60 seconds, and then Andy Fyke hauled in this pass but he fumbles into the endzone, and teammate Daniel Bayes recovers for a 7-to-nothing Liberty lead.
Brookville would strike back on its next series, Jason Browns pass finds Jeff Woody in the endzone and its a 7-to-6 game the Bees led 21-to-14 at halftime - which was reserved for Megan White, who was crowned Homecoming Queen.
Liberty knotted up the score on its first series of the third as Jerry Staples cake walks into the endzone with the great blocking.
The Bees would dominate the rest of the way doubling up the score as Woody takes the reverse handoff and he will scores to make it 28-to-21 Brookville.
SUPER=52-Liberty/21/Brookville/42;

Liberty's hopes for a comeback were dashed when quarterback Robert Carson exited with shoulder injury.
Woody would pick off a Brandon Mills pass in his absence to seal the deal as the Bees stay on track for the playoffs with the 42-to-21 win.

Tonight the Golden Eagles were in action at home hosting Seminole rival Rustburg.

SUPER=51-Moneta/Rustburg vs. Staunton River; :00

The Golden Eagles came soaring into to tonight's home game boasting a 7-to-1 record!!!
And the home boys would get off Quickly as Jarrett Ferguson does the flying first scampering 19 yards into the nest to make to 7-to-nothing the River.
The Homecoming crowd was just getting warmed up when Kevin Martin got loose on the left sideline, and the former Player of the week makes it a 14-to-nothing game.
However, the Red Devils had a little trickery in them tonight as quarterback Matt Sales sneaks in from the one to make it 14-to-7.
SUPER=52-Rustburg/ /Staunton River/ :

But the Eagles' Ferguson would score again - this time from 71 yards away as he breaks into the clear. Staunton River issues a little payback for all those bad beatings they took at the hands of Rustburg in the past decade. The final tonight Eagles ____, Red Devils ___.

George "Killer" Miller was pleading his case with the refs in the first half trying to keep his Colonels in the game.
And his star back would get on the good foot in the first quarter as Lee Suggs takes the pill and rumbles 41 yards down to the Knights 15 yard line.
Two plays later, Mondre Burnette finds Josh Taylor on the 14 yard touchdown pass and the Colonels light up the stadium's Eisenhower era scoreboard - 6-to-nothing.
Cave Spring would struggle early in this one falling behind 18-to-zip. But on this second and 11, Cory Paxton scrambles and does a good job of finding Anthony Bailey. And Bailey kicks off the afterburners as he scores on a 62 yard play to cut the lead to 18-to-8.
SUPER=52-Cave Spring/14/William Fleming/37;

This was also a big night off the field for the Colonels as the 96 Homecoming court was honored at halftime.

We 're back and ready to take a trip through the Blue Ridge district.
SS=SALEM/ALLEGHANY

And we'll begin at the top where the Salem Spartans welcomed Alleghany to town.
The Mounties as many you may remember were the first Blue Ridge team to win in the stadium, but history would not repeat itself tonight.
(----------------)
VO-NAT eng#
SUPER=51-Salem/Alleghany vs. Salem; :00

It may have been Salem's Homecoming tonight but it was fright night for Alleghany.
Salem would find the endzone in the first two minutes of the game. The Spartan line opens up the Mounties' defense, Chris Stuart takes advantage of the space and scampers 35 yards for the score.
The Alleghany defense just couldn't control the line of scrimmage, on third and three at the nine the Salem line creates another big hole this time Brandon Poff waltzes in for the score.
SUPER=52-Salem/51/Alleghany/0;

And the misery continued for Alleghany as the Spartans scored a mountain of points and shut out the Mounties 51 -to-0. Not a misprint - just a mismatch.

But for some fans the game on the sideline was more captivating than the one on the field.
On the gridiron, Rockbridge County quarterback Travis Clark tried to keep it close, on second and seven at the 16 Clark finds John McCoy in the end zone and the score is tied at 22.
But the Cavs get the ball back with 28 seconds left in the half. Seth Myers uses the time wisely, drops back to pass and finds Chad Farmer for the 29 yard T-D pass.
And Botetourt's scoring ways continued in the second. Wesley Cox sets up a Cavaliers' score by breaking tackles and carrying defenders falling short of the end zone by just inches.
