In one Big East football note, West Virginia officials are stepping up security at Mountaineer field after Miami assistant coach Randy Shannon was hit with a 55 gallon trash can Saturday night.
A spectator threw the plastic can out of the stands, and a number of other objects were also thrown at Miami players during pregame warmups.
