Norfolk Southern and C-S-X confirm they have been talking with EACH OTHER

The railroads are apparently discussing the sale of rail lines and routes

Last month C-S-X and Conrail announced their plans to combine.
N-S soon followed with a hostile takeover bid for Conrail.
Conrail has been courted by both railroads over the past decade and a half
because of its near- monopoly in the northeast.
