Virginians have decided the fate of a number of referendums-- and amendments to the state constitution.

In Rockbridge County voters overwhelmingly rejected a referendum on plans to build a general aviation airport near Lexington.
With all precincts in, voters rejected the referendum 75 percent to 25 percent.

Across the commonwealth voters narowly defeated an amendment for church incorporation.

But Virginia voters approved two anti- crime amendments to the state constitution.
One Amendment would protect the right of crime victims.

The other would allow prosecutors to appeal adverse rulings of the state appeals court to the Virginia Supreme court.

The love story itself is what works best due to a convincing portrayal of the lovelorn Romeo by Leonardo DeCaprio, and an absolutely luminous Clare Dane as the lovely Juliet.
These star-crossed lovers show real joy and anguish.
The rest of the movie tries too hard with too much of everything...sound, music, explosions, gunfights, quick cuts, and flashy camera work.
The language is sometimes difficult to decipher as well with everything else that is going on.
"Romeo & Juliet" gets a "B". It's a laudable attempt that doesn't quite work, but DeCaprio and Danes make it worth a look.
