Liberty says it withheld interest payments while waiting to hear if another

bondholders of the offer.
Over the weekend, those same committees threatened to foreclose on the
school unless the interest payments were made.

happened yesterday morning in northwest Roanoke.
48- year- old John Alexander Carter told police he was driving along Center
Avenue, when a man gestured for him to stop.
Carter said another man got in his truck, displayed a handgun and demanded
money.
When he did not find any cash, the man reportedly fired shots through the
driver's side window.
Carter then jumped out of his truck-- and the suspect drove away.
Last night, authorities found Carter's abandoned pickup truck.
