Sensors determine the temperature and precipitation levels on the bridge.
Once those factors reach a certain level, heat pipes underneath the structure automatically turn on... melting any snow or ice.
If it's successful, other similar bridges may be on the way.
There are only seven other heated bridges in the entire country.
Officials estimate the cost at 664- thousand dollars.
