Medical investigators now believe they've identified-- and eliminated--
the source of the New River Valley's Legionnaires's Disease outbreak.
Good Evening, You're watching News 7 PRIMETIME on WEFC.
I'm Connie Stevens.
The outbreak sickened 16 people, one of whom died-- from the acute form of
pneumonia spread by the legionnella bacteria.
The Health Department, along with the Centers for Disease Control,
identified a hot-tub on display at the Lowe's in Christiansburg as the likely
source of the outbreak.
