The outbreak of Legionnaires' disease in the New River Valley has been traced to a hot tub at the Christiansburg Lowe's store.

Lab tests found the Legionella bacteria in the tub's filter.
The tub was drained and dismantled last month.
Health officials said the outbreak that began in late September killed one man and made 15 other people sick.
Two remain hospitalized in stable condition.

A Ford spokesperson said the shooting started in the cafeteria at about noon, then moved to different areas around the plant.

Bank-robberies

Two men were indicted yesterday in separate bank robberies.
Thirty-eight- year- old Willey Richard Broaddus, the Fourth, is accused of a hold-up at the Signet Bank branch on East Stuart Drive in Galax a couple of months ago.
And 22- year- old Benjamin Franklin Hosch is charged in last month's armed robbery at the Bank of Carroll in Cana.
Hosch is the second man charged in that case. Larry Tyrone Gates was stopped in North Carolina October eighth, the day of the robbery, with 14-thousand dollars cash in his car.

A couple of Canadians have been charged with running up some big bills on phony credit cards at local Department stores.
Yesterday's indictments say 26- year- old Ryan Christopher Lee and 23- year- old Quoui (Kwhy) Long Lam tried to buy 25-hundred dollars worth of cosmetics in the Leggett Store at Valley View Mall October 10th.
The same day they allegedly charged 900 dollars worth of merchandise at Leggett in Lynchburg... another 2-thousand at Hecht's.
Lynchburg police caught the pair carrying five counterfeit cards. Because they'd already been suspected of charging 16-THOUSAND dollars worth of merchandise at Leggett in Virginia Beach in ONE day, authorities made a federal case out of it.

A Montgomery County judge heard arguments on a motion to dismiss a lawsuit
