Russia's failed space probe to Mars has crashed into the Pacific Ocean near Easter Island, eliminating a remote danger of nuclear contamination.
Australian officials say pieces of the probe crashed about 620 miles west of South America at 8:30 tonight.

The rocket was supposed to land on mars and explore the planet's surface, but the control center lost contact with the probe after it was launched.
Russian officials wouldn't say what went wrong.
It is a serious setback for the struggling Russian space program, which was counting on the mars mission to give it a new lease on life.

Investigators in the TWA crash are now looking for a fuel pump they think might have caused the explosion that brought the plane down.

A passerby noticed the reddish colored material around 10- this morning near the intersection of Broad and Aaron Streets.
At this point officials have NOT determined the exact type of fuel in question nor where it's coming from.
But they say it's NOT a threat residents or the town's water supply.

Conrail's board says it's sticking with C-S-X because of the deal's strategic benefits.
Some believe Conrail execs are doing this because they'll have a job with the new company.
You'd think shareholders have the final say, but corporate laws in Pennsylvania allow for exceptions...and C-S-X and Conrail have written other provisions that make their deal, in the words of one C-S-X higher up, "bulletproof".
For that reason, Norfolk Southern is mounting its legal challenge to the deal.
It all begins next week in a federal courthouse in Philadelphia.

Church members weren't forced to sell, but the redevelopment left them with no parking or direct access to the church.

Meadows says the prices were less than fair.
But the financial loss wasn't what hurt Meadows the most.

But the Eagles came right back capping a nine play 80 yard drive when Watters bulls his way over from the one but Philly trailed 13 to 7 at the half.

For the second year in a row, Clinch Valley has landed a spot in the N-A-I-A division two Playoffs.
The Cavaliers ended a perfect 10 and 0 season with a win over Tusculum College yesterday.
Clinch Valley will open the playoffs against West Minister of Pennsylvania next Saturday in Coeburn.
