School counselors say teenagers also hide their drug use with acting.

In the War on Drugs, knowledge is strength.
Parents are finding that when they know what their kids are up against, its easier to communicate with them. The next step is spotting the warning signs. IF THEY APPEAR TO BE HANGING OUT WITH DIFFERENT PEOPLE THEY MIGHT WANT TO WATCH OUT FOR THE OTHER WARNING SIGNS.
They include any type of Drug paraphernalia, like pipes, rolling paper or scales.
Strange odors.
Empty aerosol cans, which are signs off huffing or inhaling.
Dropping grades in school.
The disappearance of money.
Also changes in appearance, sleeping habits and even appetite. MARGIE TWIGG/ADOLESCENT COUNSELOR: I DON'T THINK ONE SIGN IS GOING TO TELL YOU THAT YOUR CHILD IS INVOLVED IN DRUGS OR ALCOHOL, IT'S A TOTAL PICTURE.
If some of the signs are there the next step is to seek help from the professionals.
