Our photographer, fortunately, was not hurt.
One question that is still pending is Ward's status in the school system.
The assistant principal at Lord Botetourt told me today he wasn't aware of
Ward's DUI convictions, or today's trial... He said Ward had asked for the day
off.
Just a little while ago, Interim Superintendent Bob Reece said Ward's status
at this hour, hasn't changed.
He said they haven't talked to him, and all their information is second and
third hand.
In fact if this case hadn't come to light, school officials might not have
known anything, since Ward's jail time was scheduled over a weekend, and the
Christmas Holidays.
