Ward hasn't been back in class since he was sentenced to jail for traffic violations two days ago.

He was sentenced to two weeks in jail for speeding, and for driving with a license that was restricted because of two drunk driving charges.
The assistant Superintendent tells us Ward is still employed with the school system, but won't say if he's been suspended.
Teachers at Lord Botetourt have been holding classroom discussions about the incident.
One student told us what her classmates are saying.

An Army Reserve Unit here in the Roanoke Valley is among the latest to be placed on alert for possible duty in Bosnia.

The unit has been notified to begin making preparations for the mission, but an army spokesman says that does NOT mean the soldiers will definitely be called up.

Radford fire department sources say a firefighter's alleged drug use may have been a public safety concern for years.
The question is, how long did city officials know about it?
Yesterday, Tommy Long was fired.
Last week he was charged with driving under the influence of drugs when the fire engine he was driving hit a parked police car.

Several sources who did not wish to be identified said Long's termination is overdue.
Fire chief Martin Roberts says there's been only one other incident in the three year's HE'S been chief.
Last spring he wrote Long a letter telling him to straighten up or he'd be fired-
He says there were no other problems until the accident last Thursday.
State police say Long admitted he had taken prescription medication.
At the accident scene, Roberts said he could tell Long was impaired when he signed in.

Fire heavily damaged a Lynchburg home this afternoon and investigators say a baseboard heater may be to blame.

A man renting at 102 Warfield Road reported the fire around 12:30.
Rex Sigmon told authorities he turned on the heat, took a shower and came back to find the den in flames.
It took crews about a half hour to bring the blaze under control.
One firefighter was taken to the hospital with a minor hand injury.

In Bedford County, fire damaged a barn this afternoon.
The blaze broke out just after 1:30 at Danny Simmons' farm off Route 24 near Staunton River High School.
The building and several hundred bales of hay were ruined- totalling about three-thousand dollars damage.
No word on what caused that fire.

It signifies a fatality in a drunk driving related accident.
Donald Ray Fuller of Glade Hill died Sunday from injuries he suffered in an accident on November 15th.
Fuller was a passenger in a pickup truck, when the vehicle ran off the road on Route 40 in Franklin County.

The baby girl was in a child seat when the accident occurred last night-- it was a parking-lot fender bender.
The only damage to the car was a broken headlight and side window.
The airbag was released into the baby's face with a force of 200 miles an hour.

We're talking about videotopia it is a history of video games that goes all the way back to the very beginning.
You might remember some of the earliest games like Tank, where you had a couple of tanks and you just got to fire a couple of times.
Not exciting graphics, certainly nothing along the magnitude of what we have today some people think PONG was the very first video game. It was not. It was something called Computer Space. This goes all the way back to 1971, it's this beauiful green machine. Keith Finestone is the curator-- the creator of this entire exhibit.
Tell me first, why did you decide to do a history of video games?
