In 1985, Gregory Warren Beaver shot and killed a Virginia state trooper in
Prince George County.
Tonight, he's scheduled to die by lethal injection and begin a series of
executions in the state.

Why are these executions on the calendar so close together?

Well, Jean, Virginia adopted a new law last year that forces dates to be set
as soon as the state appeals are over -- before the federal appeals are
exhausted.

According to documents filed in Botetourt County General District Court,
Ward never notified (VAY-sap) VASAP officers about his second DUI charge... nor
about his convictions for reckless driving and driving on a suspended license.

A former model testified today about a 1983 incident.
India Allen said Simpson slapped his wife hard enough to send her glasses

Earlier the judge refused a defense request for a mistrial.

A disease outbreak has prompted the Roanoke Valley SPCA to stop dog
adoptions for ten days.
The animal shelter also is NOT accepting dogs, until December 14th.
The SPCA says it recently discovered several cases of parvovirus, and canine
distemper.
It says the best way to prevent the spread of these diseases is to suspend
dog adoptions.
Cat adoptions, and the release of dogs to their rightful owners WILL
continue.

group strep "b."...a cousin of the bacterium that causes strep throat.
The bug can be passed from mother to infant during birth, and cause severe
brain-damage.
About 30-percent of American women have group-b-strep.

them from infecting their babies.
