17-year old Alexander Ferrell.

mother noticed smoke.
Ferrell's mother wasn't injured, but her son did not make it out.
The mobile home is located on Beaver Street, off Route 360- in the Blairs

Foul play is NOT suspected.
An autopsy will be performed in Roanoke.

Daredevil Robbie Knievel didn't jump at the opportunity to appear in a
Roanoke courtroom this morning
He faced a drunk in public charge.

Through his attorney, the daredevil pled guilty to a lesser charge of
disorderly conduct.

In October, Knievel was arrested after he went around banging on doors in a
Northwest Roanoke neighborhood.
The incident happened the night before a scheduled performance at the civic
center... which was ultimately cancelled.
His attorney said there was never any proof that Knievel had been drinking
at the time.

A Craig County doctor stopped a group of four teenagers in September because
he thought they were driving erratically.
Following the stop, the driver swore out warrants against the doctor;
William Andersen filed a cross warrant.

Before the case was called in court, Doctor Andersen offered to apologize to
the boys and their families, if they'd drop the charges.
In the end Judge Buzz Emick dismissed the claim that Andersen had pretended

Andersen said the next time he'd leave his gun in the truck.

protecting people from the hazards of lead poisoning.

The new law strives to protect young children.
It mandates that owners of homes built before 1978 must let potential
buyers or renters know if the house contains lead-based paint....or the owners
could be held liable.
Studies show that children under six are at highest risk for developing
brain damage or developmental problems as a result of lead poisoning.
But here's the catch.
The new law is only a disclosure law.
