It could be a few months before a Bedford County judge decides whether to give convicted killer (Yens Sir-ing) Jens Soering a new trial.
At issue is whether prosecutors withheld evidence that might have cleared Soering of the murders of his girlfriend's parents.

(( It's been eleven years since Derek and Nancy Haysom were stabbed to death in their Boonsboro home, six years since former U-V-A student Jens Soering was convicted of the crime.
Soering's new attorney claims two men who killed a Roanoke vagrant in 1985 could have murdered the Haysoms as well.
The problem is, that information was never given to Soering's defense counsel, who might have used it to his advantage at trial. ((JOHN MCLEES/ASST. Convicted murderer Larry Stout was executed by lethal injection in the state's death chamber tonight.
Stout was convicted of the 1987 robbery and murder of a Staunton store owner.
He was the sixth person executed this year in Virginia and the second of five scheduled for this month.

Ironically, rain, the one element that hurts a golfers game, helped Chip.
The final round of the PGA qualifying tournament was washed out at La Purisma Golf Course in Santa Barbara and the final scores were tallied from the 90 holes already played. But the way Sullivan's been playing, he could have shot under par in a snow storm. We talked to Chip by phone from California. ((:))
