At the Japanese embassy in Peru the hostage situation is now in its fourth day.
Leftist rebels are threatening to kill some 375 hostages and themselves if the Perurivian government doesn't release hundreds of their jailed comrades.
But news reports out of Lima today say the government does not plan to give into the rebels.

The Elliston Fire Department responded to the call shortly before midnight.

Five people were home when the blaze broke out, but no one was injured.

Now, thanks to a global initiative the rare monkey is on the road to recovery.
The World Wide Fund for Nature, who call this the wildlife story of 19-96, says their are now some 800 Tamarins living in the wild.
The Mill Mountain Zoo is home to a few of these furry creatures. (----------------)
