The town of Buchanan has a unique Christmas tradition that dates back to one of the town's darkest days.
In 19-85 and the town was all but destroyed by flash flooding.
With the town's water supply contaminated -- people brought in fresh water in plastic milk jugs.
One resident had the idea of using the empty jugs to celebrate the coming Christmas.
Since then -- every Christmas Eve townspeople have filled the jugs with sand and placed a lighted candle in them to line Main Street.
This year -- there were 14-hundred of the lighted jugs illuminating Main Street.

((
It's well known that heart attacks can be triggered in susceptible people by physical exertion, and shoveling snow can certainly be very strenuous. But what makes shoveling so high risk compared to other types of exercise?
HAFT: "SHOVELING SNOW IN PARTICULAR IS STRESSFUL BECAUSE IT'S AN ISOMETRIC EXERTION, WHICH MEANS YOU'RE LIFTING SOMETHING HEAVY, AND WHEN YOU DO THAT YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE GOES UP."
The rise in blood pressure puts additional stress on the walls of blood vessels already diseased with hardening of the arteries, atherosclerosis. Cardiologists in New Jersey studied 19 patients, men and women, who were seen with acute chest pains or shortness of breath after shoveling snow in last year's snowstorms.
Fifteen of them had heart attacks or similar severe problems.
With x-rays it was determined most had experienced a sudden rupture, injury, in an area of atherosclerosis.
HAFT: "WHEN IT RUPTURES PART OF IT OBSTRUCTS THE FLOW OF BLOOD THROUGH THAT BLOOD VESSEL AND IT ALSO STIMULATES THE FORMATION OF A CLOT THAT CAN MAKE ALL THE BLOOD FLOW THROUGH THAT BLOOD VESSEL STOP."
And if blood flow stops in an artery supplying part of the heart muscle, muscle dies, and that's a heart attack.))

Medical Experts say if you have chest pain while shoveling snow or even a few hours later, it may be the onset of a heart attack and you should go to an emergency room immediately.
