Some Southside voters will get a chance to go to the polls for a third time in just over two months.
January 14th is the latest election day for voters in parts of Carroll, Henry, Pittsylvania, and Patrick counties.
State Senator- elect Roscoe Reynolds faxed a letter yesterday to the Governor resigning his House of Delegates seat.
Governor Allen then set the 14th as the date for the special election to fill that House seat.
That means the district will go UN-represented from the January 8th opening gavel of the General Assembly until a new delegate can be sworn in.
Both parties accused the other of foot-dragging over setting the election.
Democrat Barnie Day is expected to face Republican Phil Plaster for the House seat.
