The blaze apparently started around 6- thirty in the attack of Burton's Holbrook Street home.

Over 100-thousand people in seattle were still without power and an increasing number have lost their roads as well.

To the south, Oregon closed out the second wettest year on record with continued flooding ...
While further down the pacific coast...in the Northern California wine country, flood warnings were expected to stay in effect all week.

Seven more hostages were freed today in Lima, Peru-- accompanied by a Roman Catholic archbishop and a Red Cross official.
The latest release still leaves 74 businessmen and political officials as the hostages of the Tupac Amaru Revolutionary Movement.
The guerrillas have been releasing singles and groups of captives throughout the standoff-- which started two weeks ago at a raid of a party at the Japanese Ambassador's home.

In New York, another group of daring swimmers claim they've found relief for the New Year's Day hangover-- a dip in the frigid Atlantic Ocean.
These Polar Bears took their morning swim in ocean temperatures that hovered in the low 40's.
And in Rome, three very brave men-- at least that's the nice way to put it anyway, made the plunge into the Tiber River to an audience of hundreds..

No charges have yet to be filed as dallas police continue to investigate a 23 year old woman's allegations that Michael Irvin held a gun to her head while Eric Williams and another man raped her.
Police are reviewing video tapes seized from William's house that could help the investigation.
Meanwhile, the team continues preparing for Sunday's NFC semi final against the Carolina Panthers. Emmitt Smith and Troy Aikman finally put an end to reporters questions about the incident today.
