Firefighters say items not burned up were damaged by heat and smoke.
Fire officials say a wire that "shorted out" in the attic sparked the blaze.
Fire also claimed the home of an elderly Campbell County woman yesterday.
Officials say the woman apparently poured kerosene into her wood stove,
which already contained hot coals.
The fire flared up, and the woman dropped the container, allowing the blaze
She escaped without injury, but the home was a total loss.
Crews from Altavista and Evington responded to the call on Route 682.
Firefighters in Chicago are on the scene of a hospital fire.
At least 13 people are reported injured in the fire at Roseland Hospital,
which is located on Chicago's south side.
Hospital officials say the fire was mostly contained to one patient's room,
and they are investigating the possibility that cigarette smoking sparked the

There is still no information on a possible suspect in Roanoke's last murder
But officials released the murder victims name yesterday.
Thirty-three- year- old Larry Edward Donahue was shot to death Monday night
