Trooper Keith Kincaid was on routine patrol around 3:20 when he spotted a
man outside Carpenter's Market who Campbell County sheriff's deputies had been
chasing earlier in the day.
Kincaid approached the man, who reportedly made a threatening move.
The trooper then shot the man once in the shoulder.
State police are just beginning their investigation.

A little more than a year ago, problems surfaced at the low income apartment
building.
Bills weren't getting paid, residents were outraged and eventually they were
forced out of their homes after Justice House was condemned.
At that point no one was sure who owned the Roanoke building.
But through a chancellor's recommendation, a judge decided that the
Mennonite Board of Missions has always owned Justice House, even during its
demise.
Officials there thought they had shifted the deed over to a couple of
Justice House trustees, but that transfer was never finalized according to the
court.

One NFL note. San Diego Charger head coach Bobby Ross resigned today.

Charger general manager Bobby Beathard will reportedly honor Ross' contract
worth one million dollars per year through 1999.
Ross led the Chargers to its first Super Bowl appearance in 1995 and
