General Electric admits "the production workload situation is more serious than in years past" but emphasizes it "doesn't have an announcement to make at this time", and it continues to meet with union leaders.

The medication has been available to treat sinus and allergy conditions since 1985.
Doctors have discovered that people who take the antibiotic erythromycin with Seldane could suffer heart rhythm problems-- as could patients with liver disease taking a certain anti-fungal agent.
Drug manufacturers have 30 days to respond to today's proposal.
When Seldane was introduced, it was the first drug to relieve the sneezing, watery eyes, and runny nose of allergies without drowsiness.

The Food and Drug Administration has approved testing for a new drug for cystic fibrosis.

The disease is caused by a defective gene which results in thick mucous in the airways of the lungs and other organs.
The new drug called C-P-X, taken orally, should be a big improvement over existing treatments that are delivered either intravenously or through an inhaler.
Rather than just treating symptoms- C-P-X will target the underlying chemical abnormalities.

A New Hampshire company has taken the fight against second-hand smoke to a new level.
The Kimball Physics company has not only banned smoking -- it also won't allow employees with smoker's breath on the job.
The policy also applies to non-employees-- such as truck drivers making a delivery.
A spokesman says employees have resorted to some unusual methods to escape detection.
One worker made an unsuccessful attempt to hide his smoking by eating garlic.
