Neighbors are in shock after an eight-year old is charged with killing his
step-father in Pittsylvania County.
Sheriff Harold Plaster won't confirm the arrest and has placed a gag order
in his department.

suspect is the man's eight-year old stepson.

start for plaintiff Fred Goldman.
But once inside the shelter of the courtroom, his lawyer tore apart
some of the most potent portions of OJ Simpson's defense case.
The biggest blow came when criminalist Dennis Fung recanted one of the biggest
successes in the defense case thus far - that the crime scene glove in this
photo is not the same glove Simpson tried on at the criminal trial, suggesting
police tampered with the evidence. But as a rebuttal witness, Fung said he
was mistaken.
And before Fung, a former FBI photo expert testified that although it may
appear that the glove in the picture has a hole in the fourth finger, a hole
that isn't on the glove Simpson tried on in court, it's only an optical
illusion - it's not a hole at all, only a piece of debris.

The Hokies looked hot early, as Troy Manns goes inside to Shawn Browne, who
dishes to Keefe Matthews who stays with it for the deuce.
Minutes later, Manns would get an assist to Jim Jackson - who drains the
three pointer to give Tech the early 9-to-nothing lead.
Tech would get on the board again as Ace Custis drives and dishes to Matthews
who misses the hook, but Ace comes through with the board and the bucket.

The maroons, looking to remain undefeated in conference play,
took on eagles, themselves with only had 1 ODAC loss.
The first half was a sharp shooting contest, former Franklin County star
Derek Bryant hit 5 treys on his way to a 15 point first half. Roanoke led 44-34
at the break.
The eagles finally took the lead, SUPER=33-Roanoke/83/Bridgewater/70;
57-56, on Eddie bentley's three pointer from the right side with ten minutes
remaining in the contest.
But Roanoke pulled away. Tim Braun to Nathan Hungate for the hoop, Hungate
had 11 assist,
and the Maroons go on to improve to 5 and OH in the ODAC, 10 and 1 overall,
with a 83-70 victory.

is often strength and inspiration for her teammates.

The 17 year old is an old pro at overcoming her impairment, back in 1991 she
stared for the Woodrow Wilson Presidents. In addition to her basketball, she
now plays varsity softball for the Patriots, and maintains a 3.8 grade point
average, feats that continually amaze her peers.
