A Vice President of National Business College has accused the President of
the College of sexual harassment.
IN Q=The complaint
OUT Q=late October
The complaint is contained in a federal case against Frank Longaker and
N-B-C filed Tuesday.
It cites numerous specific instances when Longaker allegedly tried to
initiate a sexual relationship with Liza Meredith.
Attached to the suit are a couple of greeting cards. One of them says,
"Remember how your life used to be so simple and stress-free? I'll never let
that happen again." It's signed: "Happy Anniversary, Frank."
Meredith left the College on medical leave in late October.))
The complaint calls Longaker's actions outrageous and intolerable, but it
asks only for a judgment against him... without specifying a dollar amount.
Longaker declined comment on the complaint.
His attorney says she hasn't seen it, but she says "the college believes
there's no basis for a complaint of that nature and will vigorously defend it."
Meredith's attorney says "those cards speak for themselves."
Friends of a Virginia Tech student killed in a car accident on campus
Saturday gathered today to remember the young man who always made them smile.
Mourners packed War Memorial Chapel to pay their last respects to 20 year-
old Daniel Jude Kelly.
Kelly died when he was hit by a car while walking on Southgate Drive.
Friends say he was always quick to lend a hand and share a smile.
((HEATHER WILSON/KELLY'S FRIEND: HE MADE EVERYONE FEEL LIKE SOMEONE, NO MATTER

MOSTLY WHAT EVERYONE CAN REMEMBER THE MOST, WHAT A GOOD FRIEND HE WAS. ))
SUPER=01-Heather Wilson/Kelly's Friend;
OUT Q=friend he was.
Friends wrote their remembrances on posters for Kelly's family.
Some hope the fact that he MAY have been killed by a drunk driver will
remind others of the dangers of drinking and driving.
((KEVIN CAVISTON/KELLY'S FRIEND: IT WOULD'VE BEEN REALLY BAD IF IT WAS AN
ACCIDENT. BUT THE FACT THAT ALCOHOL WAS INVOLVED REALLY HURT A LOT MORE BECAUSE
IT'S SOMETHING THAT COULD'BE BEEN TOTALLY AVOIDED. ))

Kelly's funeral is tomorrow in Maryland.
Prosecutors have few options IF the eight year old Pittsylvania County boy
accused of killing his step-father is convicted.
That's the opinion of a Commonwealth's Attorney NOT connected with Bernard
Rosser's murder case.
Rosser's body was discovered at his Gretna home in mid-December.
Authorities say he died from a severe blow to the head.
The Commonwealth's Attorney says the child's age limits the punishment.
((RANDY SMITH/MARTINSVILLE COMMONWEALTH'S ATTY.:COMMITTMENT TO THE DEPARTMENT
OF JUVENILE JUSTICE IS ONE OPTION, THAT'S PROBABLY THE MOST SERIOUS OPTION, I
