A church fire tonight in Roanoke.
The blaze broke out around eight at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church
in a Sunday School room.
Five people were there. Everyone got out safely.
Investigators don't know whose responsible for two bombs that went off in

Five people were inside a Northeast Roanoke church when it caught fire
It happened around 8:30 at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church on

Firefighters contained the blaze to a couple of classrooms.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Officials don't know what was behind two explosions that rocked an Atlanta
office building today-
The building housed an abortion clinic, but authorities say they have no
hard evidence the clinic was the target.

Services building, reporters and shaken witnesses gathered in the parking lot

The second bomb, hidden in a dumpster, blew up with deafening force, damaged
cars, shattered glass and showered debris for hundreds of feeet. Among the
injured, a WGNX cameraman who lost his hearing, at least temporarily.
The women's clinic is on the ground floor of a building housing lawyers,
dentists and a day care center. Though investigators say the bombings could
have been directed at anyone, the explosions came just days before the January
22 anniversary of the Supreme Court's Roe vs. Wade decision legalizing
abortion. The same clinic, in another location at the time, was bombed in

One of America's favorite fathers is mourning the death of his only son.
Bill Cosby's son Ennis was shot to death in a possible robbery attempt
while changing a flat tire.
Police say he died of a single gunshot wound.
His body was found next to his Mercedes Benz convertible.

27 year old Ennis was a Columbia University grad- on a break from doctoral
studies in New York.
He was the model for Cosby's television son Theo Huxtable.
Police have few leads- A women who stopped at the scene could only say the
suspect is a white male.
Another life sentence for convicted killer James Henry Burley in Amherst
A jury today found Burley guilty of first degree murder for the shooting
death of Jacqueline Carter in December, 1995.
Burley had already received a life term for murdering Robin Burge a month
Police solved both crimes after a citizen came forward with information.

Burley's attorneys plan to appeal his latest conviction, claiming the jury
began deliberations before hearing closing arguments.
Sentencing for both killings is set for February.
A juvenile correctional center is out of the question should a judge convict
the Pittsylvania County eight year old accused of killing his step-father.
Experts say in order to be sentenced to a correctional center, a child has
to be at least ten years old.
55-year old Bernard Rosser was discovered dead last month at his Gretna
Authorities say the Franklin County probation officer died from a severe
blow to the head.
Martinsville Commonwealth's attorney Randy Smith is NOT connected with the
case, but says if Rosser's eight-year old step-son is convicted, probation
would be an option.

Friends of a Virginia Tech student killed on campus Saturday say they'll
keep his memory alive to remind others of the dangers of drinking and driving.
Mourners gathered at a campus memorial to celebrate the life of 20 year- old
Daniel Jude Kelly.
Kelly was walking on Southgate Drive when he was struck by an alleged drunk

Friends remembered Kelly as a gifted student who was always ready to lend a
hand and a smile.
It was midnight when the phone rang in Lisa Meredith's hotel room.
By her account- -filed this week in federal court- -Frank Longaker wanted
her to spend the night with him.
HE is President of National Business College; she's a VICE President... now
on medical leave.
She accused Longaker of sexual harassment in a federal lawsuit filed this
week against Longaker and the College.
It cites numerous instances when Longaker allegedly tried to initiate a
sexual relationship with Meredith.
Two greeting cards are attached to the suit.
One of them says, "Remember how your life used to be so simple and
stress-free? I'll never let that happen again."
The complaint calls Longaker's actions "outrageous and intolerable," but it
asks only for a judgment against him... without specifying a dollar amount.
Longaker declined comment on the complaint.
A videotape made and shown to reporters by a Pittsylvania County woman is
generating unwanted attention for a Republican attorney general candidate.
Gil Davis's campaign manager resigned today.
Davis has yet to explain the tape.
But he had NO defenders so far in the State Capitol.
