State police are investigating a shooting where a Henry County deputy allegedly shot and killed a suspect in self- defense.

The incident unfolded when officers pulled 35-year old David Roy Craighead over at a Ridgeway restaurant for questioning.
Cassell says the suspect jumped out of the car and ran to a nearby field where he was approached by two deputies.
Sheriff's officials say the officers told Craighead to put down the tire tool he was carrying.
Authorities say when Craighead refused one of the deputies sprayed pepper spray but that apparently did not faze him.

The Tide extended its lead to five thanks to efforts like this one to put Galax in front by 5.

Police in Minneapolis have decided not to charge Bad Boy Dennis Rodman with assault.

Police say that Eugene Amos the man who was kicked by Rodman has decided that he does not want to pursue charges at this time.
He could reconsider, but police that it is unlikely the case will be reopened.

The man credited with turning Elvis Presley into a star has died.

Colonel Tom Andrew Parker suffered a stroke and died in Las Vegas.
He was 87.
Parker got Elvis his first recording contracts and T-V appearances including the Ed Sullivan show.
He managed Presley throughout his career and is credited for molding him into a legend.
The honorary title "Colonel" was bestowed by Louisiana Governor Jimmie Davis in 1948.
Elvis called him "admiral."
