plant in Salem.
As NEWS-7 first reported last week, the company is trimming its workforce.
G-E told its employees yesterday that it will lay off 167 hourly production
workers.
20 others volunteered to take temporary layoffs through March.
These employees average around 12- to- 15- dollars- an- hour.
The layoffs begin next Monday.
