A gunshot wound to the chest is apparently what killed a teenager last night
in Danville.

19- year old Derrick Lavar Crawford was shot once in the chest at an
apartment on Ferry Road.
Police were notified after someone reported hearing gunshots in the area.
Crawford was from Pennsylvania but was staying with a cousin while job
hunting.
Authorities say two men were seen running from the area, but they do not
have any suspects.

This is Danville's second murder in less than two weeks.
Authorities are still looking for the person who shot and killed 40- year
old Johnny Alphonso Motley.
The Danville man was murdered on Keen Street.

It came out in court today that she'd been using coke and helping others
get it for ten years- -long before she quit teaching.

Stallins cited her disability as a reason she should not go to jail.
Prosecutor Joel Branscom acknowledged Stallins is "genuinely remorseful,"
but he pointed out she used her disability check from the state to pay for the
drugs.
In addition to the six-month jail term, Judge George Honts ordered her to
pay a 5-thousand dollar fine and the County confiscated her 1987 Pontiac.

coaching duties while a committee examines complaints related to the recent
departure of five players from the basketball team.
WDBJ sports spoke with a member of the team today who said the players quit
the team because they believe the veteran coach is showing favoritism to his
son Casey, also a member of the team.
The players says their decision to leave had nothing to do with Johnson's
coaching style.

Ilya Dubkov has the franchise record for career points, had a 16 game
