Cosby said he's confident police are doing everything they can to find the
killer, but added the lack of progress is frustrating.

A newspaper report says there could be a connection between the Olympic Park
bombing in Atlanta, and bombings in Washington State.
Three men are charged with bombings and bank robberies in the Spokane area.
According to the Spokesman-Review newspaper, a military surplus dealer said
he sold men a military style backpack and a timing device.

The bomb in Atlanta was also in a military style backpack and was triggered
by a timing device.
The paper also says phone records show one of the men was in Atlanta when
the bombing occurred.
The FBI is investigating the connection, but the three men are not yet
suspects in the bombing.
A bomb exploded outside a Northern California bank this morning.
The bomb went off outside a Wells Fargo Bank in Vallejo, California.
No one was hurt, three automatic teller machines were damaged.
Police are trying to find out if it's connected to another bomb found
yesterday that DIDN'T go off.
Some children found THAT bomb while playing near a library.
Police say they haven't received any bomb threats...they think robbery could
be the motive.
A controversial flag was waving in Danville today.
Members of The Heritage Preservation Association remembered their heroes of
the Civil War with a march.
The Confederate Flag played a major role in the Fourth Annual Lee-Jackson
Southern Heritage Parade.
But not everyone sees the flag as a positive symbol.

The president of the Belk department store chain is dead.
71 year old Thomas Milburn Belk died last night at a Charlotte hospital.
Belk was the son of William Henry Belk, the company founder.
Last year Belk bought out the Virginia-based Leggett store chain.
Two weeks ago it was announced that existing Leggett stores will wear the

Bedford County is one of the fastest growing school divisions in our area.
In the past couple of years the county has seen an average of three to

The school board is hoping to build three elementary schools within the next
five years at a cost of six- million a piece.
Many of the state's homeless shelters are facing budget cutbacks and looking
to the General Assembly for help.
Roanoke Delegate Vic Thomas has introduced a three and a half million dollar
budget amendment that would double available funding for those programs.
In Roanoke, the Transitional Living Center is wrestling with a 60- thousand
The shortfall has already caused one lay- off and may force the facility to
accept fewer residents.
State money accounts for just three percent of the program's budget, but TAP
officials are hopeful an increase from the General Assembly will help them deal
with cuts in other funding.

As News-7 first reported, the Salem G-E plant gave 167 hourly workers pink
slips after they returned from a two week mandatory vacation.
But the cutbacks the drive systems maker announced Monday were scaled back
later in the week to 138.

The company will construct a water and sanitary sewer system for a plant in
the Richmond area.
The three railroads deadlocked in a bitter bidding war have agreed to meet

downing Clemson 61-48 today.
