Evelyn Williams was charged with driving under the influence, but refused a
breath test and field sobriety tests.

a blood alcohol level of point-oh-four, well below the legal limit of
point-oh-eight.
But Jones believes a forensic formula for calculating what the level would

Teenage killer Tommy Helms will serve his time in an adult prison.
The 17-year-old was sentenced to life plus 23 years today, for the murder of
Lavina Scales.
Helms confessed to shooting and killing the 15-year-old girl in 1995, along
a roadside in the Bassett area.
The prosecution and defense agreed that Helms should start his sentence in a
juvenile detention center.
But the judge ruled Helms should serve his entire sentence in the state
prison system.

New River Valley has turned up seven more cases.
