Police are calling at least one of the blasts "a bombing for hire."
Two men are in custody and police say a third man is expected to turn
himself in later today.

No one has claimed responsibility for an explosion in Paris this morning
outside a university dormitory housing American students.
Police say explosives were rigged to a gas canister that exploded outside
the entrance to the dorm.
No one was injured.
A single car accident in Carroll County claims the life of a man from
State Police say 30- year- old Thomas Jefferson Simone (suh-mone) was killed
when his car ran off route 100, hit a tree and overturned.
Police believe excessive speed is to blame for the accident.
The State Capital is filled with activity as the House and Senate race
toward tomorrow's deadline to complete work on their bills.
Among Sunday's accomplishments, labor unions and business leaders are
singing the praises of Vinton Delegate Dick Cranwell.
That's after Cranwell led a compromise on jobless benefits.
If the deal holds together
this week in front of the full House of Delegates:
- the Governor would get a modest cut in unemployment taxes on businesses
- labor unions would get a lowering of the threshold at which unemployed
workers can collect jobless benefits
- and Cranwell may finally get carpal tunnel syndrome and job- related
hearing loss written into workers compensation law.
Southside textile mills are hoping to benefit from a new trade agreement
The new textile agreement was signed yesterday, a month after the old accord
U-S trade officials say the agreement is historic, meeting their demands for
greater access to the Chinese market.
How the new agreement will affect plants in our area is still unclear, but
local officials are hopeful it will bring more business their way.
Martinsville Assistant City Manager for Development, Tom Harned (HAR-ned),
says an agreement that promotes export opportunities for textile producers will
benefit the region.
The hostage crisis was the subject of a meeting today between President
Clinton and the President of Peru.
Alberto Fujimori has agreed to open a dialogue with the rebels, who hold 72

The jury got the case last Tuesday but on Friday one juror was let go and an

for the rest of the trial fearful the dismissed juror will talk to the media.
In Pontiac, Michigan two more deaths may be linked to Doctor Jack Kevorkian.
Police are investigating the
deaths of two women whose bodies were left in different locations
One was found in a van that resembles Kevorkian's.
The other women was taken to a hospital.
People now have the opportunity to learn about one of the area's largest
employers through a new exhibit at the Danville Science Center.
Goodyear Tire in Danville has designed an exhibit for the center.
The display, dubbed "The Amazing World of Rubber" explains how rubber is
produced and its many uses.
