Two helicopters crashed in Northern Israel- in heavy fog and rain.
The Israeli army is reporting at least 70 soldiers have died.
Witnesses say the two transport choppers collided as they were flying toward
Lebanon.
The choppers were loaded with explosives- They erupted in a fiery blast that
rained wreckage on the buildings below.

helicopter crash that killed a Vinton native last year.

Britt Stacey was one of 14 marines killed when two helicopters collided
during training exercises in May..
According to a Marine Corps report, a navigational error and problems with
night vision gear led to the crash.
The report says the crew aboard one helicopter lost site of the other
chopper.
The night vision goggles are made by ITT in Roanoke County, and by Litton
Industries in Arizona.
An ITT spokesperson says the company can't comment on military
investigations.

23-year old Roanoke woman.
Aquila Barnett was named in an 11-count indictment handed up today by a
federal grand jury in Charlotte.

Crayola Crayons is joining the retro crowd.

Today the Crayola Company introduced eight new crayons--where else but at
the Rainbow Room in New York City.
The coloring giant says the new colors are inspired by the 70's for a
healthy dose of that nostalgic period.
The shades are currently un-named...
They include the orange color found in shag carpets, avocado green found
in many kitchens in the 1970's, and the purple found in bell bottoms.
Names will be given to these shades by kids 12 years old and under.
The colors will commemorate people or heroes.
