The eight- year- old Pittsylvania County boy charged with killing his
stepfather is being released a from detention center.
The child's attorney won't confirm where the child is being taken but
reports indicate the boy is being admitted to Virginia Baptist Hospital in
The boy has been held in a Danville juvenile facility since he was charged
last month with killing his 55- year- old stepfather.
Bernard Rosser was found dead inside his Gretna home in mid-December.
Authorities say the former Franklin County probation officer died from blows
to the head.
Former Pittsylvania County Commonwealth's Attorney Glenn Berger is now
representing the child.
He says one of the next hearings will be to decide if the media will be
allowed in the courtroom.

of a Roanoke woman.
