It could mean hard times for the city itself.
Yokohama accounts for about 2-million dollars of yearly tax revenue for

In the past three weeks, 140 workers at the Rubatex plant in Bedford have

Rubatex says the layoffs are only temporary, and the employees should be
hired back in a few weeks when business orders pick up again.
More than 15 percent of the plant's entire workforce has been affected, all
of them hourly employees.
Just six months ago, union members approved a new contract that left some
senior employees vulnerable to layoffs.
The company had threatened to close part of the Bedford plant if the
contract wasn't accepted.
