ring.
Oliver McCall lost his W-B-C heavyweight title bout with Lennox Lewis last
night, after he apparently just stopped fighting.
News 7 has learned McCall now faces drug charges in Henry County.

Sheriff's officials say the grand jury handed down an indictment last week,
charging McCall with cocaine possession.
They haven't been able to serve McCall yet because he's been in Nevada
preparing for last night's fight.
This isn't the first time McCall has been in trouble with area police.
He was charged with driving under the influence and disorderly conduct last
year in Martinsville.

In a side note from last night's fight, the Nevada State Athletic Commission
is holding up McCall's three million-dollar purse because of the fighter's lack

scheme.
I-R-S investigators met with Boyd Wade this morning in Staunton.
Wade says the I-R-S asked him to recount his story.

Wade and some of his co- workers in Rockbridge County have been fined
upwards of 15- hundred dollars for filing amended tax returns.
He says Randall Breeden led them to believe the federal government can't tax
their wages.
Breeden has refused an on-camera interview with News 7.
But did tell us he agreed to "educate" these people for 150- dollars and 20-
percent of anything the I-R-S returned them.

A Floyd County school teacher has been convicted for illegally transporting
animals.
Officials say Donnie Quesenberry of Floyd County brought foxes into
Virginia, Kentucky and North Carolina with several other men.
Quesenberry, who teaches at Indian Valley Elementary School, was convicted
this week in U-S District Court in Abingdon for selling the animals without
permits and health certificates showing them to be disease-free.
He was fined four-thousand dollars, sentenced to six months' home
confinement and put on a year's probation.

The 46- man unit will continue to train at Fort Pickett in Blackstone until
tomorrow when the unit will leave for Fort Benning, Georgia.
Governor Allen is scheduled to speak to the group as part of a farewell
ceremony.
The guardsmen will train in Georgia for two to three weeks before departing
for Bosnia in mid- March.
The national guardsmen are members of the Fire Support Element.
They coordinate and plan artillery support.

A deal may be in the works between the Food and Drug Administration and the
tobacco industry.
That's according to North Carolina Governor Jim Hunt.
He told tobacco growers in Raleigh yesterday there's a strong possibility
that the F-D-A would reduce its interest in regulating tobacco as a drug.
In return, the tobacco industry would have to develop a strong program to
stop teen-age smoking.

Virginia Governor George Allen tells NEWS 7 that he and Governor Hunt
discussed many things at the national governor's conference earlier this week
-- but the topic of secret negotiations with the FDA was NOT among them.
The FDA case goes before a federal court in Greensboro on Monday.

Peter is not alone.
More and more children, many as young as three are in need of mental health
care.
This pilot program runs on a budget of about 170-thousand dollars, but it
has saved the state more than 630-thousand dollars in state hospital costs
during its first year.
The program uses in-home care, inpatient care at the Lewis Gale Psychiatric
Center or day treatment to keep the child close to home.
Dr. Patel bridges the gap between the public and private sectors and says
this program is less traumatic for everyone involved.
