One woman is dead and her ex-boyfriend is injured following a shooting in
Roanoke County last night.
Police say 32-year-old Ronnie Brooks allegedly shot 26-year-old Lisa
Sizemore and then turned the gun on himself.
It happened around 10-30 at Brooks' Malvern Road home.
As Denise Allen reports Sizemore's boyfriend witnessed the incident.

Brooks is in Roanoke Memorial Hospital in stable condition.
Investigators say the shooting is still under investigation and charges are
pending against him.
Sizemore was the mother of two children.
A Pittsylvania County man is in jail tonight charged with killing his wife
outside their home.

and killed his wife around 9 last night.
It happened at the couple's home on Blair Lane.
31- year- old Melissa Faye Holland Abbott was shot once in the chest.

Timothy Abbott is being held WITHOUT bond in the Pittsylvania County Jail.
In a matter of weeks-- a Danville National Guard unit will arrive in Bosnia.
Family and friends were on hand this morning as the unit left Fort Pickett

Abortion rights advocates may get another chance to kill a ban on one type
of abortion this week.
It's the next-to-last week of the 1997 session of the General Assembly.
Among the controversial bills set for committee action is one to ban

Lieutenant- Governor Don Beyer doesn't want state alcohol agents stamping
out teen smoking.
A new proposal would give Alcohol Beverage Control agents responsibility to
enforce underage cigarette laws.

Yokohama Tire has told its managers in Salem that the plant better shape up

If the company can't erase its red ink within the next 2 years, 900 people
at Yokohama's Salem plant will be out of a job.
