The Senate committee also defeated a bill requiring doctors give women more
information about the procedure before performing an abortion.
Colorado Authorities are beefing up their effort to solve the Jon Bonet
Ramsey murder- by hiring some big names.
Forensic scientist Henry Lee and DNA expert Barry Scheck- will become part of
a prosecution task force.
Both worked on O-J Simpsons defense in the criminal trial.

After reviewing ten applications, council unanimously selected Edward
Barksdale to fill Haskins' Ward Two seat.
Haskins died of a heart attack last month.
Barksdale is a retired postal manager, who was born and raised in Lynchburg.
He says substandard housing, youth recreational needs and senior citizen
concerns are his top priorities.

The drug RU-486, known as the abortion pill, is now a step closer to being
available here in the U.S.
The group, The Population Council, which holds the patent to the drug--
says it's settled a lawsuit that was blocking the drug's introduction.
The Population Council says the drug could be available in this country by
the end of the year.
The Food and Drug Administration has declared RU-486 safe and effective.
Now it's waiting for more information on the manufacturing and labelling
before it gives it's final approval.
The drug has sparked an emotional debate among abortion opponents-- some
groups have vowed to block the drug's approval.
